Chad Bowman, EDFP
Topic – “The Memphis Aerotropolis and the impact on Trade”
Chad Bowman is a native of Slidell, Louisiana and has been a Memphian since 2004 by way of Arlington, TX. Chad Bowman has worked in the field of planning for 16 years in various planning disciplines including community development, land use planning, and economic development. Mr. Bowman recently launched his own planning firm, Bow & Aero Planning Management, and is contracting with the Division of Housing and Community Development to work on the Aerotropolis master plan implementation. He is a graduate of Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA with a B.S. in Urban Forestry Management, and an alumnus of Alabama A & M University, where he received his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. Mr. Bowman has served as a speaker on the Aerotropolis topic at the Aerotropolis Americas conference in Denver, CO in 2014 and the Smart Airport and Regions conference in Atlanta, GA in 2015.
Mr. Bowman recently passed the American Institute of Certified Planners’ Comprehensive Planning Exam and will soon become a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is also a National Development Council Certified Economic Development Finance Professional, 2012-2013 graduate of the Delta Regional Authority’s Leadership Institute, and a 2014 graduate of the City of Memphis’ Emerging Leaders Institute.
In his spare time, Mr. Bowman enjoys spending time with his 3 children and volunteering with the Real Men Read literacy program, and coaching track and field to children ages 5 to 7 with the Shelby Youth Sports league. Mr. Bowman has also mentored youth with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Memphis, and served as a Volunteer Memphis tutor at the Memphis Academy of Health Sciences and the K.I.P.P. Academy.
